Language is a powerful tool with many purposes. In fiction, the visual descriptions and characters’ voices inspire a reader’s imagination and help create a shared experience with the writer.
Why I write:
I grew up in the South where story telling has always been part of the culture, and writers were respected for their use of the English language. Fiction can make us laugh, weep, contemplate, or shiver. We succeed as writers when the reader forgets the story isn’t real.

Home Page:
Hello, and thanks for visiting my page. I’m Carol Collier, sometimes known as C.A. Collier on the title page. I’m a writer and enjoy sharing my thoughts with you from time to time. I also enjoy hearing from my readers. Your feedback is always welcome.
When I’m not writing, one of my passions is my vineyard. Working outdoors at the mercy of a hot sun and strong afternoon winds is a challenge from Nature. Grapes take months to mature, so I’m learning patience. Heavy rains in the winter are followed by drought, and a farmer has no control over the seasons. In winter, pruning the vines is much like editing my run-on sentences. Aside from a few croaking ravens and the rustling of leaves, the quiet vineyard is a great place to develop stories.
